Importance of being Earnest (Wilde)

You can get a ‘flavour’ of the reviews of the 1890s when it was written and performed by accessing the Australian newspapers printed at the time.  Go to the TROVE (the Australian National Library’s Newspaper digitisation project at http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper )  and select the ‘advanced’ search option and put in the phrase “Importance of being Earnest”, then you can select the date range of 1890 - 1900.  Some of the first reviewers were not impressed!

What videos do we have for English?

In addition to the plays you can see via Digital Theatre we have two versions on film, the first one was done in Australia in 1992 while the second was done in England in 2002.
